WHAT WE DO
Our Services

WHY UNITI
What Makes Us Different
Translating Complexity
Uniti helps translate the technical complexity of heat networks into clear commercial and operational terms, so you can make decisions with confidence.
Regulation Ready
Deep expertise in Ofgem, HNTAS, CP1 and zoning requirements means we don’t just help clients stay compliant, we help you stay ahead of what’s coming.
Client-First Independence
Always and only on the client’s side. No other relationships to protect and no other agenda, so we can challenge anyone, at any stage, without compromise.
Full Lifecycle Coverage
From development vision through to operations, Uniti supports the full lifecycle development of heat networks.
Stakeholder Accountability
Uniti acts as the independent thread across all stakeholders, removing duplication, closing gaps and ensuring everyone is working toward the same outcome.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Cost Of Doing Nothing
Left unchecked, small issues become expensive ones. Swipe through the risks of getting it wrong.
Regulatory Fines
Ofgem’s enforcement powers are now active, with fines of up to £1 million or 10% of turnover. Non-compliance is now a significant financial and legal risk.
Operational Costs
High return temperatures, excessive heat loss and poorly performing HIUs translate directly into operational costs, eroding margin for operators and increasing bills for customers.
Remediation Costs
Fixing poorly specified or installed heat networks post-handover is costly, disruptive, and often unfeasible, far exceeding prevention costs.
Programme Delays
Failure to achieve HNTAS certification or Ofgem pre-authorisation can stall development, delay occupation, and trigger penalty clauses in sales contracts.
Reputational Damage
Underperforming heat networks generate complaints, Ombudsman referrals and negative press, damaging the reputation of developers and social landlords.
Expired Defects Window
Once the defects period closes, you lose the opportunity to hold contractors accountable, leaving permanent, unresolved issues.
Real networks, real results.

Common questions
FAQs
Here’s what clients most often ask about staying ahead of Ofgem and HNTAS requirements.
What is heat network technical assurance?
It’s independent oversight of a heat network’s design, installation and performance, checking that what’s built matches what was specified, and that it meets regulatory and performance standards, at every stage from planning through to operation.
Who does Uniti work with?
We work with developers delivering new heat networks, housing providers and operators managing existing ones, and local authorities overseeing zoning and compliance across their area.
Why do I need independent assurance if I already have a contractor?
Contractors and consultants often have their own commercial interests in a project. Uniti has no other relationships to protect, so we can challenge decisions and flag issues on your behalf, without conflict of interest.
At what stage should I bring Uniti in?
As early as possible. We support the full heat network lifecycle, from development vision through to operation, but the earlier we’re involved, the more risk and cost we can help you avoid.
