Our commitment
Uniti Heat Ltd is committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our operations by 2050 at the latest, in line with the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy and the Climate Change Act 2008 (as amended). As a specialist consultancy supporting the decarbonisation of UK heat, we believe our own operations should reflect the outcomes we help our clients deliver.
Our Footprint
We are a small, predominantly remote professional services business. Our emissions arise mainly from business travel to client sites, home and office energy use, and purchased goods and services (Scopes 1, 2 and 3). We will measure our carbon footprint annually, using the UK Government’s published conversion factors, and use this baseline to set reduction targets and track progress year on year.
The biggest contribution we make
Our largest climate impact is through our work. Heat networks are central to the UK’s route to net zero, and every defect we help identify and correct — inefficient plant operation, excessive distribution losses, poor commissioning — reduces carbon emissions for the lifetime of that network. Independent technical assurance means heat networks perform as designed, and networks that perform as designed waste less energy.
How we will reduce our emissions
- Travel. We prioritise remote working and video conferencing by default, plan site visits to combine activities and minimise journeys, and choose rail and other lower-carbon options where practical.
- Energy. We operate a remote-first model with no energy-intensive premises, and we encourage the use of renewable energy tariffs across our working locations.
- Procurement. We follow green procurement principles, favouring suppliers with credible environmental commitments, and we keep our supply chain short and UK-based.
- Waste. We operate largely paper-free, minimise waste and maximise recycling and the reuse of IT equipment.
Governance and review
This commitment is owned at director level. We will review this statement, our measured footprint and our reduction progress annually, and update our approach as our business grows and as best practice develops.
